About Us

Swn-y-Dwr takes its name from the Welsh for “the sound of water” and it is this that creates a soothing ambience, forming the perfect backdrop to your holiday.

Relaxing in the landscaped gardens – which embrace the banks of the Llugwy river – you are surrounded by steeply wooded crags which form the gateway to The Snowdonia National Park and which give this picturesque North Wales village a truly Alpine feel. (You might also be lucky and spot the otter, which has been seen on our riverbank, searching the pools for the salmon and sea trout migrating upstream.)

Swn-y-Dwr reopened under new management in September 2015, following months of tasteful and thorough refurbishment — with an emphasis on both style and sustainability.

With everything from Wi-Fi, two TVs, a constant supply of hot water to off-street parking, a drying room and a fully equipped kitchen, we are available for rental all year round and capable of accommodating up to 11 people in comfort in our five bedrooms (three of which are en-suite).
