Betws-y-Coed; something for everyone...

There's plenty to do in Betws-y-Coed. Here’s how you can make the most of your visit.

There are amazing walks starting from Betws-y-Coed. For instance, walk to Swallow Falls or to Llyn Elsi behind St.Mary's Church for breathtaking views, or wander around golf course hidden among the dramatic Gwydyr Forest.

The famous Marin Trail for mountain bikers starts close by and takes you through the heart of the forest.

Looking for a new pair of walking boots or an outdoor jacket? Then there are plenty of specialist outdoor shops. If you’re looking for locally made crafts or some local Welsh food then we have a wide range of gift shops to choose from.

Hungry? Why not pick up a freshly made sandwich and have a picnic on the green (Cae Llan)? We also have a variety of places to eat and drink; cafés, bistros, restaurants, bars and a pub.

If music is your thing, then look out for live music in the bars or the pub or the Welsh Male Voice Choir at St.Mary’s church.

For children, there’s the little steam railway train found near the main Betws-y-Coed train station and the railway museum, and the ice cream parlour. Children are welcome in most bars, particularly if they are eating and most offer a kids menu at reasonable prices.

Don’t leave your dog at home. You can take your dog in many of the shops and some of the bars are dog friendly. Follow one of the many trails in the Gywdyr Forest for great dog walking territory.

And if you need more inspiration on how to have a great day in Betws-y-Coed, then check out all the listings on this website or the Tourist Information Centre behind the village green.

The village of Betws Y Coed has recently been awarded "coach friendly status" just one of three places in North Wales to have been so. With ample parking and so much to do and see, it is the perfect location for a day trip on your coach tour.
