Grill Room at the Royal Oak

The Grill Room at the Royal Oak Hotel offers menus which fully embrace modern Welsh cooking using locally sourced seasonal produce in new & innovative ways.

Discover a new dining taste with the thrill of the Grill – a section of our menu covers food totally cooked over charcoal on the Josper, an authentic bbq oven.

If you’re a steak lover then one of our secret weapons is the Dry Ager – one of the oldest techniques out there. Dry ageing produces a steak that's incomparable to an ordinary cut of beef, with an aroma reminiscent of butter and nuts – sounds delicious? It is!

The Old Stag

An easy 20-min drive from Betws y Coed The Old Stag in Llangernyw is your typical traditional country pub. Originally built as a farm in 1640 The Old Stag was converted to a hotel in the late 1800's and into the current pub in the late 1970's. Situated in the shadow of the famous yew tree, which is reported to be at least 4,500 years old and is one of the oldest living things in the world, The Old Stag offers everything a country pub should.

The minute you walk through the old oak door of the pub you are engrossed by the thousand of ancient and weird artefacts which adorn the ceilings and walls of the pub. The warmth and glow of the open fires radiate through the pub and the low oak beam on the ceilings hold a history of their own.

SUPERB ACCOMODATION AVAILABLE ABOVE THE PUB - SEE THE YEW VIEW UNDER "SELF CATERING"
