About Us
Visitors are welcome to take a self guided tour of our working mill museum where we manufacture Welsh tapestry bedspreads, tweeds and travelling rugs from the raw wool. Most of our machinery is over fifty years old.
Weaving can be viewed April to mid December (Monday to Friday except Bank Holidays) and additional machinery such as carding engines and spinning mules can be viewed Easter - October (Monday - Friday except Bank Holidays).
The water turbine which generates our electricity can be viewed all year within shop hours.
The Weaver's Garden contains plants which supply natural fibres and dyes (June - September). See our website for dates for hand spinning and rag rug making demonstrations.
Our pure wool products are available in our shop and online. Our fabrics are made up into ladies’ and gents’ accessories, ladies’ clothing and home furnishings.
We are a small family business with one outlet operated by the Williams family since 1859. Find us in the centre of Trefriw, five miles north of Betws-y-Coed on the B5106 (cross the river over the stone bridge and follow the road for five miles).
