Your Massage Treatment from Alison Richmond MGHT -
Snowdonia Massage Therapies.
You can enjoy the benefits of a Therapeutic Massage or Hot Stone Therapy in the comfort of your own home or holiday accommodation.
As a fully qualified and insured massage therapist you can relax in the knowledge that you are in safe hands.
You will need a warm, quiet space that is large enough to accommodate a comfortable portable massage couch with room for me to move around it freely. Fresh towels and linens are provided for your modesty and comfort.
As a Neal's Yard Remedies Independent Consultant I always use Neal's Yard award winning Organic products in my treatments.
Each treatment begins with a confidential consultation to enable me to personalise the massage to suit your needs whether for relaxation, muscular stiffness, or for other reasons.
Although massage is beneficial for most people there are certain conditions whereby it would not be advisable or your doctor’s permission maybe required (if you have concerns please consult with your GP). Your confidential records will be kept for my information.
For your first appointment please allow an extra 20 minutes for a consultation - this does not affect your treatment time.
Before The Massage
Have a cool shower or bath.
Do not apply perfumes or deodorants.
Do not have a large, heavy meal, and avoid processed foods.
Do not drink alcohol.
Do not have a massage if you have flu, fever or have recently had an immunization or serious operation, however, once the worst is over a massage treatment can be hugely beneficial and aid recovery.
During The Massage
For a full body massage (Back, Legs, Feet, Arms, Hands, Shoulders & Neck), you will be asked to undress to your underwear (Knickers/ pants) in private, a selection of towels will be provided to ensure your modesty at all times. Only the part of the body that is being massaged at the time will be exposed.
For a Back, Neck, Shoulder and Arms massage you will be required to undress to the waist only, towels are again used to ensure your modesty at all times.
After The Massage
Drink a glass of water immediately after the treatment and drink plenty of water and herbal teas for the rest of the day – it will help to eliminate toxins from your body.
Allow your body to rest to enable the full therapeutic benefit of the treatment to take effect.
Avoid alcohol, caffeine and smoking.
Eat a light meal and avoid heavy or processed food for the rest of the day.
Sometimes the detoxifying process can cause some slight nausea, &/or headaches, drinking plenty of water should avoid this.

Swedish Massage is one of the best-known types of massage performed today. One of the primary goals of this technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart.
Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
Hot Stones Therapy
Hot Stones Therapy melts away tension, eases muscle stiffness and increases circulation and metabolism. Combining Hot Stone protocols with a full body massage provides a very healing & effective experience. The hot basalt stones have a sedative effect that can relieve chronic pain, remove stress & promote relaxation. Benefits can include - relief from pain associated with fibromyalgia, arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome & other chronic conditions.
