b'01Swallow Falls This famous beauty spot with its dramatic waterfall is easily accessible from the village of Betws-y-Coed; just 2 miles to the North.The walk is easy and mostly flat. It is varied and scenic, along the valley of the river Llugwy and a track through the Gwydir forest. A circular route is possiblesee below.The start point is the Pont y Pair bridge, where the river tumbles over huge rocks in the centre of Betws-y-Coed. Turning left on the far side of the bridge a track comes into view close by the river. This leads to a boardwalk and then along the river valley to the Miners Bridge. Immediately on the right at the top of the steps a straight track through the forest eventually turns left for about 50 metres onto the main road. Aboutmile further is the entrance to Swallow Falls. The dramatic and explosive force of the falls comes into view and the experience is heightenedby descending the steps to the gallery at the bottom.To complete a circular walk continuemile to Ty Hyll/The Ugly House tea roomsvery quaint and well worth the extra walk. Steps adjacent to the small car park lead down to the river where a track eventually leads back to Betws-y-Coed.
