For the Adventurous…

Betws-y-Coed and its surrounding towns and villages lie squarely in the most varied, compact, and accessible natural outdoor play ground in the UK. By being based in the Betws-y-Coed district it’s possible to climb a mountain and windsurf at the beach in one day. This, plus our passion for our mountains, rivers, seas, forests and lakes, makes the region quite simply: the Heart of Adventure.

The opportunities for doing outdoor sports and adventure activities in this area are huge and growing year on year, as further inventive ways to respectfully enjoy the environment are revealed.

So what would you like to do today? Scramble up a gorge? Slide down a canyon? Perhaps a course in kayaking or canoeing is more your thing. Maybe you’ve always fancied Coasteering around the rocky coastline or swimming in wilderness lakes. Did you know you can swing through the trees and plummet 100 ft. Or abseil, zip line and climb waterfalls in abandoned slate mines. We also have rock climbing, abseiling and bouldering companies nearby too.

How about some record breaking challenges? Fly through the air at the world’s fastest and Europe’s longest zip line, be guided to the summit of Snowdon, the highest mountain in England and Wales, or abseil down to the deepest underground point in the country.

Whatever adventure you choose, you can be assured of guidance by some of the most qualified and experienced outdoor instructors in the UK. They live and breathe the landscapes and seascapes of North Wales and can provide you with new skills, a sense of accomplishment and adrenalin filled memories of a lifetime.
